Cool Projects

Residents throughout the Gulf States are participating in a plethora of exciting environmental projects! These projects are engaging people directly with nature to explore issues important to the environment in which they live. Each project is described briefly with a link to its host organization site for more information and an e-mail contact is provided if you’re interested in becoming involved. Below you can search for projects either by Regional, U.S. Gulf States, or Mexican Gulf States.

Regional Areas

The Gulf of Mexico Alliance is a collaboration between the U.S. and Mexican Gulf States. States working together on projects helps the region to uniformly address environmental issues. Organizations conducting projects in more than one Gulf state have their cool projects listed here.

U.S. Gulf States

The states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas offer diverse environments for people to explore and learn. Gulf residents have the benefit of natural entertainment in their backyards. Getting involved in these cool projects helps people investigate issues relevant to their area.

Mexican Gulf States

Protecting the Gulf is also important to the country of Mexico! Collaborations are underway.
